In 2009, we were very pleased to present, with Friends of St Mary's Church, the very first Rushden Festival of Literature, Jazz and Visual Arts. Highlights included:

• An evening with writer Fay Weldon, who discussed her life and work in an interview with her son, writer and musician Nick Weldon
• Live Jazz from the Andra Sparks Quintet, featuring Art Themen
• Big Band Jazz from the very best young musicians in Northamptonshire
• Visual Arts from painter and Performance Artist Martin Ive and author and artist Christiane Sasportas
• Writing Workshop by Fay Weldon
• Discovering Jazz Workshop by Nick Weldon, Trevor Tomkins and Jeff Clyne
